John Wing’s resume reads like a history book of late-night television and world-renowned comedy stages. He has amassed over 350 television appearances across North America. Take a look at some of his incredible career highlights:

  • Late-Night Royalty: One of the rare Canadian comics to perform on The Tonight Show six times, spanning eras with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno.
  • Prime-Time Success: Captivated millions as a standout semi-finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (Season 8).
  • Festival Favorite: A certified heavy hitter on the festival circuit, including 10 appearances at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, plus regulars at the Winnipeg, Toronto, and Halifax Comedy Festivals.

COMPETION COMICS

The festival is presenting 12 to 18 of the region’s funniest acts to take the stage across Dartmouth’s premiere local Venues, Bars, and Restaurants

From Sept. 24 to 26, comedians will compete in the festival’s preliminary rounds with audience members voting to decide who advances. 

The top six performers will head to the finale on Sept. 27 at the Sanctuary Arts Centre (100 Ochterloney St.), where an industry panel will decide the winner.

The "Top Comic" will receive the first-ever Mary Walsh Comedy Award—presented by Mary Walsh—and a sponsored performance spot at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2027.
